Terms of Use — Jyotish (Vedic Astrology)

1. Acceptance of the Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the Jyotish — Vedic Astrology application ("Jyotish", "app", "service"), maintained by Michael de Almeida Trindade ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you ("user", "you") declare that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What the service is

Jyotish is a Vedic astrology (Jyotiṣa) application that generates charts and reports from the birth data you provide. The astronomical and astrological calculation is performed on a protected server and the app displays the results (text and graphics). Features and techniques may evolve over time.

3. Registration, account and minimum age

• You must provide truthful information when signing up and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account.
• The service is intended for persons aged 18 or over. By using the app, you declare that you are at least 18 years old or that you are authorized and supervised by your legal guardians.
• When you register data of other people (profiles of family members, partners, friends), you declare that you have a legitimate basis to process it.

4. Access model, ads and purchases

Jyotish has a free part and a paid part. What is free and what is paid is shown in the app before any purchase and may change over time:

• Free: at least part of the birth chart report and the Praśna and Rectification modes. The app may make all content free — the full report and the remaining modes — while showing ads to people without a subscription (see the Privacy Policy).
• Paid (subscription or one-time purchase): depending on the model in force in the app, it unlocks the advanced sections of the birth chart and the remaining modes (synastry, comparison, friendship, family, partner search, year forecast, muhūrta) or, when the content is free with ads, it removes the ads and unlocks the PDF export of the report.

Charging per birth profile. Paid access is granted per birth profile, not per account. Each person (profile) you wish to unlock may require its own purchase. This condition is displayed in the app before the purchase.

Subscriptions and one-time purchases.

• Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the app store (Google Play / App Store), under its terms and payment methods.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until they are cancelled. You manage and cancel subscriptions directly in your store account (Google Play / App Store); cancellation ends future renewal and access remains until the end of the period already paid for.
• Refunds follow the policy of the respective store. Requests must be made to the store; we can assist to the extent within our reach.
• Prices and the composition of the plans may change; changes do not affect periods already paid for.

5. License of use and intellectual property

• We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive and revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
• The calculation engine, the interpretive texts, the databases, the brand, the design and the reports are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to us or to our licensors.
• You may not: (a) copy, resell or redistribute the content or the reports at scale/to third parties as a product; (b) attempt to decompile, reverse engineer or extract the engine/algorithms; (c) access the API or the server by unauthorized automated means; (d) circumvent the paid access limits; (e) generate artificial clicks or views on ads, or interfere with how they are displayed.
• The report you generate for yourself may be saved and, when your plan includes export, exported (for example, as a PDF) for your personal use.
• Copying or sharing sections of your report for personal use — including pasting them into artificial intelligence apps of your choice — is permitted use; what remains prohibited is resale and redistribution at scale, as above.

6. Nature of the content — important notice

The content of Jyotish is offered for the purposes of self-knowledge, reflection, culture and entertainment. It does not constitute medical, psychological, legal, financial or any other kind of professional advice, nor a guaranteed prediction of events.

• Do not make health, financial, relationship or legal decisions based solely on the app.
• For matters in those areas, seek a qualified professional.
• The interpretations reflect traditions of Vedic astrology and have no scientific proof. You use the content at your own risk, being solely responsible for your decisions.

7. User conduct

You agree not to: use the service for unlawful purposes; infringe the rights of third parties; attempt to compromise the security, integrity or availability of the app/server; or enter third-party data without a legitimate basis.

8. Availability and disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be free from interruptions, errors or unavailability, nor the absolute accuracy of the calculations or interpretations. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, seeking to communicate relevant changes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages, loss of profits or decisions taken on the basis of the app's content. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078/1990, Brazil's consumer protection statute) and other applicable rules.

10. Suspension and termination

• You may terminate your account at any time, through the Delete my account option in the app (or by requesting it at the contact email address). Individual birth profiles may also be deleted in the app.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the law, seeking to give prior notice whenever possible.
• Termination entails the removal of your data in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Paid access rights already acquired follow the store's rules.

11. Privacy

The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Relevant changes will be announced in the app and/or by email, with a revision of the date at the top. Continued use after they take effect implies agreement with the new version.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. The courts of the consumer's domicile are elected to settle disputes, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Code, without prejudice to other legally applicable venues.
